Scholarships for BBA, BCA, B.Sc IT & MBA Students in Bihar
Government and college scholarships can cut what you pay for a management or computer degree. Here is who can get each one, how much it is worth and where to apply.

AICTE Saraswati: for girls in BBA and BCA
AICTE launched the Saraswati scholarship in March 2024 for girl students in BBA, BCA and BMS programmes at AICTE-approved institutions. It is worth ₹25,000 a year for up to three years, with about 3,000 scholarships each year. AICTE’s older Pragati scholarship is only for technical degree and diploma courses, so Saraswati is the one to apply for if you are a girl in BBA or BCA. Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships
This central government scheme (now part of PM-USP) rewards students who scored above the 80th percentile of their class 12 board and whose family income is up to ₹4.5 lakh a year. It pays ₹12,000 a year for the first three years of an undergraduate course and ₹20,000 a year at postgraduate level, with about 82,000 scholarships nationally. Apply on the National Scholarship Portal, and renew each year.
Bihar Post-Matric Scholarship (SC, ST, BC, EBC)
The Government of Bihar’s post-matric scholarship helps SC, ST, BC and EBC students in recognised courses after class 10, including courses at private institutions in Bihar. Family income must be within the scheme’s limit (generally up to ₹3 lakh a year). The amount depends on your course and category. Applications usually open around September to November each year on the Bihar post-matric scholarship portal.
Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana (graduation)
Bihar gives ₹50,000 to girls who complete graduation, paid by direct bank transfer through the MedhaSoft portal. It is paid after graduation, so it rewards finishing your degree rather than paying fees during the course. Check the current conditions on the portal before applying.
Bihar Student Credit Card: a loan, not a scholarship
If scholarships don’t cover your fee, the Bihar Student Credit Card gives an education loan of up to ₹4 lakh that is paid to the college. Since September 2025 the loan has been interest-free, and you repay it in instalments after the course. It covers BBA, BCA, B.Sc IT and MBA at approved colleges.

Which scholarship can a girl get for BBA or BCA?
Girls in BBA, BCA or BMS at an AICTE-approved institution can apply for AICTE's Saraswati scholarship (₹25,000 a year for up to 3 years, about 3,000 awards). Bihar's Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana also gives ₹50,000 to girls after they complete graduation.
Is there a scholarship for MBA students from Bihar?
MBA students can apply for the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships at PG level (₹20,000 a year) if they meet its conditions, and SC, ST, BC and EBC students can apply for the Bihar post-matric scholarship. The Bihar Student Credit Card also covers MBA as an interest-free loan.
Is the Bihar Student Credit Card a scholarship?
No. It is an education loan of up to ₹4 lakh that you repay after the course. Since September 2025 it has been interest-free. Scholarships, by contrast, do not have to be repaid.
Can I get a scholarship at a private college in Bihar?
Yes. The Bihar post-matric scholarship covers recognised courses at private institutions in Bihar, and central schemes such as the Central Sector Scholarship and AICTE Saraswati depend on your marks, income or gender, not on whether the college is private.

Ladkiyon ke liye AICTE Saraswati (₹25,000 saalana), 12th me achhe marks wale students ke liye Central Sector Scholarship (₹12,000 saalana), SC/ST/BC/EBC ke liye Bihar post-matric scholarship, aur graduation ke baad ladkiyon ko Kanya Utthan Yojana ke ₹50,000.
